cover help wanted again

Hi,

it's been a while since I posted here. Life has been very busy. I'm currently preparing two new releases (one more fairy tale [a retelling of the rather unknown Grimm story "The Hut in the Forest"] and another short story), and I re-did the cover for Urchin King. Now I need feedbakc on two of the covers (Urchin King and the short story). Please tell me what you think. Any comment will help.

Here are the covers:

Thanks a ton,
Cat

Hey Kat, really fine, high quality covers in all three cases. I haven't read the latter two I don't think, but they are certainly effective and seem in line with the tale that the title suggests. I said a few words about UK already. You are clearly getting the hang of terrific cover designs!

Very nice. I especially like the Urchin King cover.

If the creep factor of the horror story is as high as the creep factor of your cover, you're sure to have a winner there! :)

Danke euch allen. Thanks to you all.

@Amy I very much hope the creep factor is worse. What other reason is there to write horror, right?

I like this typography of the Urchin King better! Though I would tone down the shadow and not remove it that far from the lettering. Nitpick mode on ;)

The Newtling typography is a bit too plastic like for me, the bevel emboss effect is too strong for me. I like the colourscheme though!

The Insider cover is perfect, the grittyness of the font matches the image used.

I'll adjust the shadow on Urchin King (it's only there to make the font more readably when I shrink the picture to a thumbnail anyway), and I'll fine tune the newtling cover. The colors on the newtling cover are intentional because those are the colors a male European newt has. I'm trying to get these as perfect as I can.
